Gwen Kim

After deciding not to pursue a career in law, I joined my first IVC practice as a veterinary receptionist in November 2023, as I have always had a passion for animals and a strong interest in animal welfare. A year later, I decided to join the lovely team here at Barrier. I am excited to take on increased responsibilities in the practice alongside my colleague Jemma to ensure high quality patient care, and grow alongside Barrier and Park Vets in the coming years.

My long-term goal is to put my legal and veterinary knowledge to use in the animal charity sector to improve animal welfare in the community. I aim to advocate for responsible pet ownership, promote accessible, high-quality care for animals in need, support vulnerable pet owners through sustainable initiatives, and collaborate with rescue organisations to ensure every animal receives the care they deserve.

This role does not only allow me to enjoy daily interactions with our sweet little furry friends, but creates countless opportunities to expand my knowledge and build on skill sets that contribute to this goal.
